Whether you require a clear or stained, matt, satin or gloss finishes, our team will always be able to satisfy your requirements.
Unfortunately the majority of outdoor decking is produced with grooves in the upper face which makes it impossible to sand with conventional sanding machines. There are 'rotary-brush' style machines available in the USA which would be ideal for this purpose but unfortunately will not operate correctly with the UK electricity supply.
So if you have the 'grooved' style decking we are afraid it's down on the knees with a good old wire brush... Sorry people....
However, if you are fortunate enough to be the proud owner of a flat faced style decking, usually produced in Oak or the exotic Balau, we can accomodate your requirements in full.
It is still impossible to get down between the gaps in the boards and we generally urge the customer to finish the sides, posts and hand rails themselves for economy reasons, but the main upper surface can be sanded and finished to bring back the original new look and ready for treatment suitable for the given material used.
The exampleshown is created from the very yellow Balau originally from Asia, a timber very much suited to the job in question, with a close grain and high in oil content in its natural state.
This decking was undergoing side extensions where flower beds were originally created, when it became very obvious the wood had become bleached by the sun and tinged with a green pasty finish.
Our machines were quick to revitalise the appearance ready for coating with hard wood oil readily available from any DIY store.
